Hello,
Even though I'm signed in as a moderator, the link to add "new topic" isn't working for me. My forum address is herbalsurvival(DOT)net/forum

Thanks as I anticipate your timely response,

Hi there. Have you tried Forum, Permissions, moderator Access.

It comes with a default set of permissions. I edited mine 6 months ago so can't remember exactly what the default was, but I do recall I had to play around in here to get Moderator access working properly. There is a specific permission for example Create new Toopic?

Hi Smith,

I have double-checked the moderator access and there's no issue with it. I have also tried resetting all permissions, but no success yet. I still can't create new posts.

Update: I'm logged in as administrator and not just with "moderator" access.

Hi

I'm new to this to, but if you are logged in as Administrator, you should check where the administrator role is mapped to.

Forums

User Groups

Map Users to User Groups

The default user group for administrators should be set to Members if you want normal posting rights.

Cheers

Pete

Don't get confused between a WordPress 'administrator' role and an SP 'admin' user. They are not necessarily the same. An SP 'admin' does not belong to a user group OR have permission sets assigned as they have, by default, access to everything and all things.

I would try going to the forum admin > toolbox > housekeeping and running the task to 'Reset Auths cache' which will at least ensure all users permissions are rebuilt.

Also - assuming you are in a moderator user group, take a look at your forum profile and view the usergroups and permissions you are assigned there. Something may stand out...
