Sequencing Posts within a topic

I'd like to have newest posts firsts on a topic which is I think the 'standard' way of doing this.

But on Forum, Options, Global Display settings, the option to sort posts newest to oldest is greyed out. Any ideas why or how to change this?

Hi:

Do you have the Threading plugin enabled? If so, the option for ordering the posts inside of a topic will be disabled since it doesn't make sense in the context of threads in a topic.
