Hi,

I use the reboot theme and need the German language file.

I also found these and saved them in the folder -> sp-resources-> forum-language-> sp-themes.

The name of the language file is spreboot-de.mo

Unfortunately it does not work 🙁

Where is the mistake?

Hi:

According to the translation site (https://glotpress.simple-press.com/glotpress/projects/simple-press-themes/reboot/version-2.0/) none of the strings have been translated into german.  So I suspect that your mo file just have the english terms in them or is otherwise blank.

I would really like to join for german translations, but I don’t know how…

@verena, can you clarify what you’re looking to do?  Are you looking to contribute to the German translations and, if so, for which item – a theme, an add-on or the core Simple:Press forums plugin?

I need these two files in German, so I’m interested in helping to create them. Also the plugin “threading” isn’t available, so I could do that, too.

To get these files, go to these links:

• Threading: https://glotpress.simple-press.com/glotpress/projects/simple-press-plugins/threading/threading/de/default/

On each of those pages there is a tiny EXPORT link at the bottom.  Export as PO which is a file you can edit.

After you have done so, you can convert that file to an MO file or you send send it back to us and we’ll import it back into the repository and you can then export as MO for your use.

the “threading-page” doesn’t work.

For core and admin, there are so many translations in “wainting” state…. it would be great to start working in addition to what is done yet – not to work twice…. is that possible?

Looks like we changed out the slug after posting that reply for threading.  The new link is https://glotpress.simple-press.com/glotpress/projects/simple-press-plugins/threading/sp-threading/de/default/.

When you download a PO file it will contain the existing translations.  So you’ll just need to add in your new ones.  For threading there are no existing German translations.

I installed core and admin german language, but I see, that a few translations are not right in the context they are (translation is correct as “word”, but in context you have to choose other meanings). I can correct them, but on the sides, where I can download the language files (you sent in this topic) there is not the newest version. Can you put this in there… and perhaps also correct the “waintig state”?

Can you clarify what you mean by “The newest version is not available”?  Everything we have for translations is on the translation site so not sure what you mean by that.  I’m happy to upload new translations that you provide (we’re always grateful for those!)  Or, we can give you an account that will allow you to edit on the site directly.

I mean, that on https://glotpress.simple-press.com/glotpress/projects/simple-press-core/version-62/sp/de/default/ there are several empty translations which I’ve done in the file I added here in the forum, but since I’ve added the file here in the forum, it was possible to update these language files in the forum, so I don’t know, if the version which is now in my forum is the version I did or the version, which is shown at the link. Also there are many yellow translations, so it seems to be in working state.

I would like to help you voluntarily (my german is not so bad as my english 😉 ). If the way via an account is easier or more direct, I prefer that….

Ah, thanks for the clarification.  I missed the prior message with the attached file.  I’ve updated the translation site with the data from the file and added you as a user of the translation site.  You should have received a generic wordpress email with a link to set your password for the site.
