"The folder name of this plugin has become corrupted - probably due to multiple downloads. Please remove the -1 at the end of the folder name. The proper folder name should be report-post "
I tried to upload the file once and the upload failed. The second time the upload was successful, but it read this error message and it will not let me activate, delete, or even edit the name.
How can I correct this issue?
Since it wouldn't let me do anything else I tried to re-upload it hoping that it would simply replace the file and the problem would be fixed, but I was wrong, and now I have the plugin showing twice. Both showings are reading this error message. It will not let me select either one, it will not let me edit the name of either one, it will not let me delete either one, activate them, or anything at all. Not sure what to do and looking for help from someone who has experienced this before.
Hi:
Are you able to delete the plugin from the FORUMS->PLUGIN screen? If so, please delete both instances.
Then, before you try to install again, take a look at the .zip filename you're uploading and make sure that it doesn't have any numbers in the name. It should be report-post.zip and no other name or derivation of that name.
If that process doesn't work then you'll need to log in to your wordpress server via FTP and navigate to the wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins folder and delete any report-post folders you find there. Then try uploading the plugin again.
Thanks.
You are not even able to select the plugin so therefore you are not able to delete either instance, and I checked and there is no derivation of that name. It reads the way that it should.
Can you define what you mean by "access Wordpress server through FVP?" Define that for me and I will get it fixed.
Thank you for such a quick response. I sincerely appreciate it.
FTP is a power users tool so I don't recommend using it now if you've never used it before - with a couple of key-presses you can wipe out your site's files. So, the next best thing would be to open a support ticket with your wordpress host and ask them to delete those folders I mentioned above. They should be able to do it quickly once they get to the ticket.
