hmmm.. despite those warnings, new registrations are working fine on my test site using theme my login…  new users are added to the user group set for new members on forum – options – member settings…

what kind of settings do you have for theme my login?

have you checked to make sure you have the latest version as he's released a new version recently… latest is 5.1.6

worth mentioning that page is still getting cached…  at least some db queries are, not entirely sure about the url itself…  do you need to tell the db caching to ignore as well as the page???

I told the db caching stuff to ignore the forum too and now the login stuff is working as expected – at least in a couple of tests..

If you go to the theme my login settings page, do you see warning such as:

WARNING: The function wp_new_user_notification has already been overridden by another plugin. Some features of Theme My Login may not function properly.

Yes, I see exactly the same warnings.

For settings, probably easiest to take a look yourself than put a long list here, but nothing unusual. A couple of custom links, other than that I think it's all pretty standard.

I don't understand what you're saying here. Are you reffering to my site? Have you made changes to db caching on Techie Talk?

you only had the page cache ignored for forum…  I also changed it to ignore it for db caching since that was causing login issue…

Ahh, okay, thanks! … Still got the new user not being assigned to a Member Group problem though. Cry Most bizzare.

yeah… have some company over, so wont get back to that till later… but with theme my login on my test site, I am getting the user assigned just fine…

out of curiosity (and maybe it was already covered), have you tested a new user creation with theme my login disabled?

No worries, I appreciate any help you can afford me whenever that may be.

I've not tired it with TML disabled, I'll give that a go now and see what happens!

Hmm, okay, it does seem to be a TML conflict somewhere. Using the default WordPress registration it worked fine. Weird that it works for you though Steve, but not for me…. Can you check your settings against mine and see if/problem-with-post-edit-buttonow they differ?

yeah, thats what I plan to do… my tests have been registering from the sidebar widget – is that the same?

okay… testing now… have tried everything but the email stuff… interestingly enough, I just registered on your site and never got an email… so wondering if something there is cratering (note the previous warning message)… will try with your exact email message…

Very odd, I got a notification that you had registered. It should send out a custom notification to you with your username and password. It always used to work….

The warning messages are new in TML, I didn’t think Simple:Press overrid the notifications if that was turned off in the options? Why would TML think that?

I have to sleep now but I’ll check back tomorrow.

nah,not that… works fine and tested yours with it disabled… and I did get the first email, but strangely after I got the email for a second account…

most odd as I am not sure whats going on…  and cannot replicate…

Shall I update to latest version and see if that helps or do you want to investigate the issue before? It might not help, but I'm hoping as there's no other obvious solution!
