Damn, upgrading didn't do it 🙁 Still get new users not being assigned a User Group…

I see there is a new version of TML available now, but I'm reluctant to upgrade that as it's a complete rewrite of the code. I can forsee a whole world of pain if I take that route!

I understand, it is frustrating to have this bug but I appreciate you have many demands on your time. I didn't have the time myself to update the plugin until today! If you get a chance to investigate it at some point that would be great, but I'm not expecting anything.

I did notice the huge number of posts awaiting attention and had a look through them. There were only a couple I could help with though. Seems you've got on top of things now though as the queue is empty.

sorry, havent re-read entire thread…  are you using ranks?  just found an auto assignment problem yesterday…

Well apparently I am, though I never set them up. So I found that a bit odd, apparently I have “New members” and “Members”. Would delete them if this is the issue as I have no need for them.

well, you get those two by default… currently, you really need at least one rank…

but what I should really have asked is, are you using the auto user group membership with the forum ranks? t

Am I doing what to the where now?

auto user group membership? This is a new one on me, I thought I knew all the various SPF features. I'd guess I'm not using it as I have no idea what it is, but don't take my word for it!

on the forum – components – ranks panel… next to each rank, in its own column, is an option to auto assign a user to a group when the attain that forum rank…  the default is no auto assignment… was wondering if that was enabled on yours and perhaps the bug I fixed yesterday was coming into play.

Currently it is set to:

New Member       Up to 2 posts        Members

Member              Up to 1000 posts   Members

Up to      posts     No User Group

As far as I'm aware, those are the default settings since I've never got involved with Forum Ranks. Does that look correct to you?

no, the default for the ranks we supply is No User Group… but with those settings, I dont think its coming into play since you always try to leave them in Members…
