So I thought I’d have a go at adding a feature idea for SPF 5.0 into Mantis but it throws an error saying:
A necessary field “type” was empty. Please recheck your inputs.
But looking at the report all the required fields are filled in… Am I doing something wrong?
hard to say… you should fill out:
category
priority
product version
target version
summary
description
type
its working, several new tickets have been added today… but could be something with your account access though that would be an odd error…
I go to “Report Issue” yes?
If so Required fields are listed as:
None of the other fields are marked as ‘required’, though I did also fill in:
What should ‘Product Version’ be set to for a new feature? Would that be 5.0 as well?
What is ‘Type’ I don’t see that listed on my report… that’s also the field it said was empty so that would explain the error, but I don’t see it.
product version is the version that the error occurs in… or if a new feature, just the current version…
type is way down at the bottom of the form…
really? wow, wonder how it does that… should be right after additional info and before upload file…
It is a custom field, so wonder why its not shown for your user… will investigate…
try again… looks like that field was custom for the project and you werent listed on the project… thought global access would have done it…
okay, think I got it now… found a spot where they had a special access on the custom field… lowered it so you could see it…

It worked that time, though it threw a load of error at the top of the page. Something about “no history”, but the page reloaded to quickly for me to register what they were. Seems to have posted it though.
I have been seeing those at the top – about 4 lines in red not up long enough to read…
I get it occasionally… sure its related to the change I made on not having history in the emails… probably need to define it somewhere… its harmless…
okay, think I fixed the initialization code… please let me know if you continue to see it…
Is it possible for me to add notes to an issue? Couldn’t see any way of doing so, maybe I’m looking in the wrong place, or maybe I just can’t do it.
Do you get an edit on the left of the listings? Actually, is the bug ID a link. If so bring up a ticket and scroll to the bottom. Note is the last thing
