Admin and Moderator email notification

I have been watching SimplePress for some and finally decided to make the switch from SMF to SimplePress (still wish I could have found a data importer for SMF) and I am still in the process of getting it all set up. In general - even though my current forum members may not to be happy at first with the change - SimplePress is answering all the things I want.

However one thing I would really like - Admins and Mods notification of new member sign up and confirmation completion by email.

Now you could already have that in place but I did search for it but didn't find anything.

registrations and email notifications are handled by WP, so no, spf admins and moderators dont get that kind of notification. There are other plugins available for WP where you can add those kind of registration notifications.

spf admins can receive notifications of new posts. moderators notifications will be coming in 4.1 and I posted a quick fix on how to add it to 4.0

The admin does get an email notifying them of a new registration but not the follow up confirmation. This is standard WP stuff.

thanks .. this end of WP is new to me. Never used the User section before so I'm having to figure this all out. That said I had one of the other Admins sign up as a new user late last night and at this point she still hasn't recieved any mail nor have I.

any possible suggests of where to look to track down where this notification process is going off the rails?

Start with email settings in the WP admin 'general' page. Also check the email settings in the forum Options > Email tab

turns out because I am using and install of WP on a WinServer & IS$ +PHP I needed a SMTP plugin. Everything is working as it should so far but I do have some other requests coming at some point 🙂

Great product ...

Ah the pains of using IIS. WordPress itself doesn't much like IIS...

Hi!

I've been using the forum search, but couldn't dig up the thread you refered to, in which you posted the code/quick fix.

Would you mind posting the link to it?

Thanks

I can do better than that!

As far as I can see the only change is to the sQL statement that grabs the admins list: Just add to the end of it:

...WHERE admin = 1 OR moderator = 1

That should do it unles you also want to change the message about notifyiung Admins...

(Thanks for the email by the way. it's a tomorrow job now!)
