So are saying nobody gets emails. And I assume all the email settings are correct both in WP and SP?
Emails are sent by WP NOT by SP and they can be notoriously problematic. If they continue to be a problem we usually recommend the HGK SMTP plugin which seems to resolve most issues for most people.

as Andy said, emails are sent by WP and the WP support forum is loaded with email issues in particular when on shared hosting...
did you add an smtp plugin like Andy suggested?
did you enable the sending of emails on forum - private messaging - options?

but not sure what is up then... as we said, WP sends emails, not SP...
anything in your error logs?
also, re-reading, are you confusing email for pm and new post notification email? you interchanged them a couple times... the latter is enabled on forum - admins - my admin options... but if there is server issue with email, would make sense that WP would would have issues with both...
