Hi,
It would be nice, as a moderator, to have a button that would allow me to notify the user that has started a discussion (or perhaps show a list with all users that have participated in a discussion) that you have posted a reply. That would help informing users that are not watching a topic or did not subscribe to a topic that a new specific reply was posted

On the same topic I was wondering if it would be possible for the admin to simply activate an auto subscribe for anyone that participates in a discussion. Or an auto response for everyone by default when they start or participate in a topic.
So basically working the other way around. Users would then have to turn the subscribe off if they don't want to follow a discussion in which they participated.
I find that in less busy forums guests or members often make posts and don't take the time to look for the options. As a result they don't subscribe, visit the forum for a couple of days to check for a reply and if not don't come back, although a rely could still be posted after that.
Maybe you already have this option and I just overlooked it or it is already in a newer version. I am still on 4.02. If so my apologies.

4.1 introduces auto-subscribe but it is an opt IN thing. You clearly would prefer it to be on by default.We have had other requests for this and it is logged as a posible future feature (currently against 4.2 but I can't promise that at this stage).
