Related to the fade-out confirmation pop-up that appears at the top of the screen after you update a setting in the Admin panel. I am getting a DB error report but it fades before I can read it.

If the update results in an error condition then change the confirmation display to a dialog box or something less fleeting than the auto-fade pop-up, or put an OK button on the pop-up, not auto-fade.

Sounds like it might have been that we didn't KNOW there was an error. have you caught it yet?

no, he is refering to the panel update status in yellow.  usually it indicates success, but if something was wrong with the changes made on a form, it does give an error message about what was wrong or missing.  It does fade away like the success message.

I will try to copy the err msg next time from the yellow box. It happened while adding forums so it may be related to something I have done re permissions

Yes - he said he thought it was a db error and those are often the ones we can't catch because it is unexpected.

If we get enough folk who think the message fades too quickly then it is an easy matter to prolong it.
