I'm not sure if this is already a feature or not, but I looked and I was not able to find anything about this. I think a great feature would be to have an automatic PM sent to any newly registered users, sent from the admin account, with a custom message!
Sorry if it is already implemented -- if so, please let me know where I can find it. Sorry, also, if it has been requested already.

PM no - not currently. But you can send a custom email which you can word yourself.

Ok, thanks! I think I've seen that somewhere in there. I think a PM is better and more personal, but if you think the emails are enough then so be it! I would still love to see the feature ported to PM, which shouldn't be too difficult if you have it set up to do via emails, but I will understand if it doesn't make the cut!

with 5.0 (in early dev) and plugins, would be a snap to add... basically, very few new features are going to make the cut until after 5.0 is released... need to get that done with themes and full plugin api...
