Will exporting all of those rows for the forums and creating their own table work?

I did the export and gave it its own table and still no luck. Looking at the importer it looks like there needs to be a separate table for topics, replies and forums. It must be the new version or something.
Also why are my posts still awaiting moderation even though I registered?

Your posts were in moderation because we have it set to moderate the first post by a member but as you then wrote more before that one was approved it put them all into moderation.
So this is the new, plugin version of bbPress I take it. You are right that the importer is not built for that but for the older version. I can't advise on any way to deal with that either as I have not looked at it to see how it does things.
But I'll write myself a note to get into that as soon as I can. Sorry.

Ok, I found if you go to wordpress admin -> Tools -> Export you can export the forums, topics, replies to xml files. Maybe a plugin can be created to read those xml files?

perhaps. but we dont have such a plugin currently.
we have opened a ticket to get our importer to include ability to import form the newer bbpress plugin too...

sorry, no ETA at this point. our priority is to get 5.0 released. Andy may be able to offer more insight into a timeline since he handles the importer, but it wont be until time permits...

I would like to get this done as soon as I can of course. After the main issue of time - it will involve having to create a forum to use as a test bed and that is a slow and long process. If anyone would care to donate a database for development and testing purposes then that will, of course, speed the process up greatly....

What about sending you the forum, post, reply .xml files and you import them?

the importer works on an existing database... so you could just send us the appropriate ones, but we really need the user and usermeta db tables too... easier for whole file...
