Hi,
It would be nice to be able to do the following :
Email integrated forums :
* integrate a pop3 mailbox with a given forum. So when an email is received in the POP3 mailbox, it would end up in the forum (and removed from the pop3 mailbox). The new email would then be placed in the forum
- as a new topic . A random number (reference) should be prepended to the topic, and an email is sent back to the poster, containing a (customizable) text, with the reference number.
- as a new post in a topic (if a reference to a parent topic is found in the subject)
* send emails from within the forum. So by replying to a topic post, it would send an email back, carrying the reference in the subject, and it would also have a optional statement in the body that one must reply to this mail and make sure the subject contains the reference number.
This would be an email-only forum, so it would be locked for normal users.
The email address used to send emails out, must be configurable per forum.

This would be a great feature.
I've been looking for a Google Groups alternative that could be integrated into my existing forum, and a post by email and subscribe to forum (say a pass protected one) would be a great way for users to collaborate on specific (secret) projects with ease.
