Ok so Automatic introduced jetpack and now embedding in WP is a breeze. So i was wondering, why not let the jetpack function handle the forum post media embedding? .. is this possible?

embedding was easily possible before jetpack...
currently, the wp backend tinymce (or quicklinks) where embedding occurs is not usable on the front end. that said, they are talking about repackaging it such that it could be easily reused. we are keeping an eye on it.
but another drawback to that is requiring one to use another plugin. I certainly dont want to use jetpack (to much bloat for so little that I dont already ahve).
