allow admin to configure auto-enabled features. I.E
- If user.posts > 100 then avatar.feature = true
- If
user.posts > 200 then signature.feature = true
also allow to set for media/links/
- if user.post > 20 then user.cansee(link,embededmedia,etc) = true
also allow to
- collapse forums
- posts in topics
- shadowbox login ***
- allow to set colours for groups admin/mods/users
this is it for now when i think of more ill post it here [Image Can Not Be Found]
'Collapse Forums' - is something that is already on our list although quite low priority - it is not something that is heavily requested.
'Setting colours for different groups of user' - there is some of this in place already in that posts by admins/mods can be styled separately as can members of forum ranks. This is not currently done on a forum user group basis however.
'Shadowbox' - highly unlikely. it assumes people use it and the vast majority do not.
'Posts in Topics' - ? - What does that mean?

first request for that too... but we can think about it... more heavily requested items will get done first..

Allowing users to enable features by post count would be nice. First, there are a lot of (human) paid link spammers who sign up, post some gibberish marginally related to the topic, and add a bunch of spam links. Second, it's nice to give people a spiff for contributing.
However, I'd like to also request an administrator-settable time enabler with this. For instance, you must have 10 posts AND have been registered for a week before you can post links, or you must have 30 posts AND have been registered for 30 days before you get an avatar. The problem with doing it solely by post count is that people flood the board with a whole bunch of annoying gibberish in order to boost their post count.
This could probably be done by allowing users to be automatically promoted to different user groups depending on post count and time…then the permission sets would take care of the features.
Anyway, it's an idea to consider. Thank you for all the work you've done to make SPF clean and usable!
Actually, upon further investigation, it looks like this is already possible via the Components -> Forum Ranks options!
Set up user groups with the appropriate permissions, and use the "User Group Membership Attained" dropdown to add users to new groups as they attain greater post counts. Give the group "Members" the minimal set of new user features, add as many new groups as you need to enable features in the order you want, and associate those groups with permission sets that give them the additional features you want to enable.
This way you can even do neat things like have groups that are only visible to users with 100+ posts.
It still might be nice to put time limits on those group promotions, though, for the reasons I mentioned above.
yes, its already possible as you noticed with forum ranks... no reason we cant consider some sort of time base ranking at a future time too...
