One of our project targets is to see if we can get some level of dialogue with BuddyPress into Simple:Press. However, as none of our team use or are that familiar with BuddyPress one of the first problems is discovery. Ideally we would welcome someone who could take on the coding for this project but that might be a tall order and nobody has come forward to date. Second best would be someone who is an avid user of BuddyPress and really knows their way around it who we could talk to and discuss ideas with when the time comes.
So - a volunteer is needed!

actually im not sure if you guys will have seen this, im going to have a play around with it but there is a "template" for notifications within this package here: http://wordpress.org/extend/pl.....component/ I wonder if that would be any use to you guys?
It includes other templates as well so may aid you in futher integration with buddy press (since i dont know how much you guys want to do with the platform
(also if you guys are looking for someone to test potential implementations I'd be hapy to see how she runs in my dev enviroment for you)
thanks, we will take a look... we have it on our list to do tighter buddypress integration, but it will be limited by our knowledge...

I'd trying to get forum posts to show in BuddyPress activity stream.
There is a helpful post at http://blog.slyspyder.com/2010.....ty-stream/
Unfortunately it is using the hooks from old version of SimplePress.
Would really appreciate pointing me in right direction for how to setup hook on new 5.x version.
thanks!
This is something we really want to get into ourselves but there are just so many hours in a day!
Simple:Press V5 now exclusively uses WP style filters and actions so a working knowledge of those would be useful of course. What you really need here is an action hook but I am suroprised to see we didnlt oput one in so I can and will correct that for the next update. But there IS a filter available now which can be used - you just need to ensure that the $newpost array is returned back intact at the end.
The current available filter is called 'sph_new_post_data_saved' and passes the $newpost array. I rather suspect it has all the data in that array that you could possibly need as well - it is more extended than it used to be.
