You can allow ‘Friends’ to see extended profile information that members like to share with people they know?  I am struggling to figure out how to do that myself…

so in addition to identifying friends, you would want to add additional profile fields?

this can be mostly done already using the private messaging plugin and the custom profile fields plugin…  though would take some work… the latter allows you to add new profile fields…  then when displaying, you can check to see if the current user is the profile user’s buddy list and only display if true…
