Support Forum
Hi all,
I love what you're doing here and really wish the "authorities" (like BBpress & Matt M.) would get behind it and just make WP forums work this way. Being integrated in with the main admin panel is just the way it SHOULD be!
However, I'm a bit of a paranoid "late adopter". I'm just looking at how there are only 2000 or so members here, and while I LOVE your work am wondering how the future looks for SimplePress? What is in place if you guys all burn out? It's a LOT of work dealing with whining newbies like myself.
That is, are there converters back out of SimplePress to something main like SMF or phpbb3 or even bbpress so we can play the "this database converts to that database" game, IF something goes wrong for SimplePress?
Having sounded so naggy and negative in my first post, I hope you really do believe me when I say I love the direction of this software, and hope it goes "official", or even core!
The good news: If something does go buggy and for some strange turn events pappa and yellow go insane and end up playing chutes and ladders in a padded room you can always come back to the current version of Simple:Press.
WP-Forum was my first wordpress forum and I quickly realized how dated that particular platform is. I spent a fair amount of time figuring out a way to convert WP-Forum to the current SP build. Most people probably feel the same way as I do, I wouldn't leave this platform, unless someone divides by zero and figures out that anti matter is really angry gnomes instead of Electrons and Protons with polar opposite charges.. can we say random though? lol..
anyway, I don't forsee this platform going anywhere anytime soon with regards to it's demise..
I hope this entertained you.. [Image Can Not Be Found]

no, I agree with David... Andy and I still have great deal of things we want to accomplish with SPF.
Visit Cruise Talk Central and Mr Papa's World
I'm glad to hear you say that Mr. Papa.
The main features of my site will be the forum. The blogs will come second. I'm trying to get the bugs straightened out then launch it as a Social networking site.
I'd believe I'll do well enough to become a financial backer of SPF. I'll have to go from rags to riches first.
Keep up the good work,
David
It's an interesting question and while it is already answered I will put in my 2 cents worth.
For me - living as I am in 'grey time' - SPF is my relaxation therapy and brain cell tickler. I still enjoy it (despite having to man the support forum [Image Can Not Be Found]) and am still eager to get the latest out on the street so I can start on new and interesting stuff. I am not planning on going anywhere.
I am particularly lookng forward to the day when we can safely say users need php 5 and MySql 5 because that will open up a whole new dimension and we could relly start to fly.
