Hello, I am completely shocked that such a great piece of forum software as simple press has such a fatal flaw.  The UI is horribly cramped!  If you look at "Posts, Views, Topics" for example, you will see that it looks horrible as far as UI is concerned.  There is no space on the right or left of this text at the top.  This isn't proper UI design.  Someone please tell me there are skins that don't jam everything together.  Simple Press reminds me of the first time I went to a bar in Tokyo and only had 6 - 12 inches of space behind me.  And when I stayed at an upscale hotel in Shinjuku and could put one arm on the left wall, and one arm on the right wall at the same time.

What is the sum of 1 + 1?  HORRIBLE UI DESIGN

First of all, thank you for your constructive criticism! I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're not just tolling.

I don't understand your problem though, where is it cramped? Perhaps you have a problem specific to your installation that is causing an issue? Other users haven't complained of this unless they had some CSS conflicts with their theme or other similar issue. The general layout of the forum is pretty consistent with many other web based solutions.

Perhaps if you could take the time to expand on exactly what the problem is with the layout and ideally a link to your site then we might be able to offer some suggestions.

Well, everything is cramped together.  It would be so much better if there were more padding on everything in the whole BBS system.  One issue I Have is that the bbs doesn't by default expand when the window expands, or if you remove the sidebar it doesn't expand.  Is there an easy way to get the bbs windows to expand?

Sounds to me like you have a theme problem and the forum isn't using the full width? A common issue this one and it's covered in the Wiki... you did check the Wiki right?

http://wiki.simple-press.com/i.....oo-narrow/

Please take the time to look through that and if you still have problems feel free to ask for further help.

Of course, if that isn't the issue a link to your site and a more detailed explaination would help.

yes, the forum is a plugin for wp... as such was have to do what wp gives us... so the forum displays on a page that the user defines... if that page is full width, the forum will be full width... if that page has a differently defined width, we will fit into that width...

and, of course, you can create your own skin to fit your needs if it needs more spacing here, less spacing there, etc etc...  with downloads in the six figures, not really any way we can predict or provide skins that would meet every users need.

with 5.0 andthe planned templating system, users will even get more control over how and where display elements are used...
