I think that it would be absolutely awesome if you could see how many people are viewing a single category from the main forum home page. For example:

General Discussion (7 Viewing)
Support Section
Q&A (2 Viewing)

 

That makes things really simple and easy to see while browsing the different categories.

Well if you click on 'See all online activity' in the stats box at the bottom of this forum when there are just a small amount if users visiting you will see how much room it can take up...

Anyway - this is already available via the 'who is online' SP plugin.
