If non registered people are leaving spam comments using the 'math' test then they must be doing that manually. Which means any other form of captcha will not really make any difference. Captchas really only help out on automated postings.

i believe it is automated. because there was spam in blog post comments but they are stopped after i have installed a plugin which uses method of some obfuscating with javascript, even nothing additional here: no field, no captcha, no image, no checkbox, so it is very easy to post manually. but there are no spam comments now.

the math spam question has been effective at stopping spam... many bots can solve captcha images today too...

we hope to integrate akismet for the next feature release...

but i still request captcha. i do not use akismet. i have not thought much about akismet yet, now think, cannot it delete comments? - and have thought that probably wordpress does not allow that.

is it hard to use wordpress captcha as it used in different places of wordpress - posts, pages.

i have seen a good captcha built in phpbb3 - questions by admin.

I know this is an old thread but i'm catching up on feature requests already made before adding some of my own.

I have what I consider to be a moderately busy forum (3700 registered users & 60-200 posts per day) and since running Simple Forums over the past two years I've only had maybe 5-10 spam posts the whole time - I think it's great.

yeah, I think in four+ years, we have only had a handfulslip through...  that said, in v5.0 we have created an addon plugin that will allow you to add akisment spam prevention to your forum too...

Stupid windows update rebooted my computer so I lost all the notes I was making about features I'd like to suggest - will have to start again when I have a minute 🙁
