afraid nothing new to report...
but we just released 5.5.6 and will begin assessing what we want to do... planning new features and stuff and a 5.6 version, so its possible... I know Andy was keen on it and has looked at it, but unsure yet if its one of the 'new things' he will choose... afraid its not on my shortlist... so we will have to see...

The problem here is that we always try and prioritise user requests by the numbers. With limited resources of time to institute new features we do want to make then count for as wide a user base as possible. So first hits are requests that are made widely narrowing down those that have just a single request - like this one.
Add to the mix things we know we have to do; code changes we have to make to support WordPress changes and features; plus all those things we would like to do ourselves - and the list can get long and complex.
So far yours is the only voice asking for this and yes - I would like to do it - but sorry to say it currently has a relatively low priority,
