So far so good - the forum shows a great deal of promise. However, a couple of things:
(1) The whole process of getting a password mailed to you and then being required to change it and add in a first name is very laborious. Must be removed.
(2) Facebook login is not an option. My users want to remain anonymous. Is there an ability to post and create an account quickly and easily?

not sure what you mean... registrations are part of WP, not SP... so you go through the WP process which does not require you to change your password... there is an option in simple press to force a change, but dont know if you enabled that or not... check on forum - components - login and registration...
but again, registration is a wp process... as a plugin, we just sit on top of wp...
there are many plugins for wp out there that allow you to change the registration process...
