Is there a way one can check the activities on the forum ..
like say for example...a small display box which says
> user1234 has posted in the thread Physical Education just now.
> userFyr7 has posted in the thread Hobbies 5 min ago.
> Deerpark has posted in the thread Hobbies 6 min ago.
> Flyfish has posted in the thread Music 10 min ago.
> Goldman has just got "HERO" rank.

So a small feed which displays such status on top/bottom of the forum
Is such feature available already ? If not, it would be a cool inclusion for users to check on status of their friends etc. on the go !! [Image Can Not Be Found]

no, something like that is not currently available... might be a good candidate for a plugin when we release 5.0 (still a ways off)... can add the request to our list...

and is there a non-live feed now...which shows activities not live but at refresh of page.

sorry, not sure what you mean... dont see anything... do you have to be logged in?
also, a recommendation... since you are using an icon set with text on the actual icon, you should turn off the now duplicate text label next to the icon for those... you do this on forum - options - style settings...

Back to what I was asking !!
I was asking if there is a plugin/feature with which I can see a list of recent posts in the forum (say around 5 recent posts)...and if its there can I place it on the top of forum !
am just asking if there is a feature with which we can track recent forum posts without keeping a seperate watch on it

yes, we have at least three template tags and a ready made widget (which uses one of the three tags) that you can use to display recent topics... see our wiki for more info on the template tags...
