First off, I'd like to say thank you for Simplepress its a great young forum that has the potential to grow into a powerhouse! I'm glad I can do whatever I can to help and will be donating when I get my next check. - Thank you guys so much!
Unforunately recently i've been looking at other forums systems - But only for one reason!. I need the ability to assign Badges/Awards to users! I think its important that if someone donates to my website (and to yours) that this person is recognized so that it encourages others to donate and helps show that we are a user driven community!
Do you have plans to incorporate adding custom .jpg's under the users avatars in the next version? These could be for Donators, Contest Winners, Contributors, Special Fans, etc.
Let us know if this is something simplepress would be able to do!

I am in the process of adding custom rank titles to 4.1 right now. this could be used for this though its fairly manual. I have another ancillary ticket which calls for adding a custom image icon to the custom rank titles. The purpose of the image would indeed be a badge type idea. I would imagine that makes it into 4.1 also, but its not for sure yet. together, they would certainly accomplish what you ask.

I hope you do add the ability to assign the custom images, as a nice shiny badge in different colors could be for different donation amounts! Its a great idea!

when implemented, you would definitely have the ability to select/define the images yourself. We dont have a formal release date yet for 4.1, but the talking date is this summer. There will be a beta period prior to that where you can try it out and provide some feedback.
