Support Forum
If you have a busy forum, there are costs and constant problems. I'm back again wondering if it might be feasible to come up with a plugin that would allow the owner to insert ads (of whatever kind) amid the content. This would help offset costs and it might even be profitable.
I have seen this in other forums. Basically, an as is placed in between the third and fourth (or wherever) post in a thread. It could be universal, but you might even go further and make it editable for each post.
For example, say I have a forum post that gets a lot of hits... it's maybe five years old and highly rated. A person might want to buy an ad on that particular thread.
I know this is a bit out there from what Simple:Press is right now, but as Facebook falls out of favor, I think forums where people can be anonymous may come back into vogue. I am definitely seeing this trend on my site. And people constantly try to sneak links into content. So hey, sista! Why don't you pay me for that promotion, hmm..?
You could stick google ads in the space as well. I'm pretty sure this is new to forums... so if you did this, you would have a serious marketing edge.
I wouldn't disagree that a plugin may well be useful although it would, by nature, be limited to the most obvious places. So - maybe one day!
Meanwhile, a lot of users in the past have utilised various places within the forum display for ads by creating a child theme and using the details in the FAQ here: https://simple-press.com/docum.....the-forum/

@elsaelsa it is true, niche communities and popular discussion forums are gaining traction among the current social media exodus.
FYI: We insert "ads" or sponsored messages and internal promotions easily using the existing SimplePress functionality.
The Child Theme framework can be edited to add Google Adsense and other monetization platform code for display in Group, Forum, and/or Topic views.
We have also used the built-in "Special forum message" field to display sponsored content above specific forums.
For topic-specific advertising, one might consider inserting and/or pinning a post containing the ad content.
Simple:Press powers the Tripawds Discussion Forums.
