Hey Everyone,

I'll commit to a $ 100 investment for a MyCred Simple Press complete integration plugin for the community. Or I'll give a Gold Membership as a gift -- either way it's $ 100 or $ 99 going to SimplePress.

Can we start a contribution campaign on Indiegogo or something to get this plugin done?

CubePoints is basically gone: Compatible up to: 3.4.2, Last Updated: 2012-11-20

MyCred is up to date: Compatible up to: 3.8, Last Updated: 2013-12-19

My previous post at WordPress.org MyCred

The author doesn't seem interested in developing his MyCred plugin to wire up to SimplePress.

MYCRED HOOKS 101

BTW - This reply Editor is JACKED in Chrome. It is one line tall and the scroll arrows at the left edge of this are stacked on top of each other. The only way to see what I've typed in here is to keep going to preview again and again...

I think it is probably safe to say that myCred is very high on - if not top of - the list for the next major plugin development. We really need to just shake off Christmas, fix up a few outstanding issues and catch our breath and we will be having a discussion in what comes next - and as I say - I think myCred is a favourite...

There is a thread here somewhere on the Chrome issue. I am pretty sure it has now been firmly diagnosed to be a Chrome bug. What you need to do is resize the editor window (using the bottom right resize handle) and that should then set the cookie for the editor size and retain it for future sessions. Whether that is the case I am unsure but yes - it is down to Chrome to get fixed up.

Good news (hopefully).

According to the myCred site, Simple-Press support was added effective the 1.3.3 update, released December 2nd:

As of 1.3.3, myCRED has a built in support for SimplePress! Once you have installed SimplePress, you will find the "SimplePress" hook on your Hooks page. You can award or deduct points for new topics and topic posts.

I'm still learning the in's and out's of both SP and myCred, but I'll try it out and report back.

Thanks!

Update:

I've run a few quick tests with SP and myCred and it looks like the new SP hooks in myCred 1.3.3 are working.

It's basic though, points awarded (or removed) for topics and posts only.  No points for any other activities within the SP environment that I can tell.

But it's a start.

Thanks!

really??  myCred built in support for SP?  they beat us to it! ;)

probably limited support since they only do what is in core...  we had added some more via our plugins for polls, ratings, etc...  we should probably reach out to them and offer copies of the plugins if they wanted to add those too...  do you know them?

Yes, I missed the new SP hooks when I downloaded myCred for the first time a few days ago.  All that fretting about bbPress v SP for nothing! embarassed

Sorry though, I'm new to myCred and more of a content guy than a coder, so I don't think I could be of much help as a go-between.

But from the looks of it, Gabriel puts a lot of time into the myCred plugin and the site, so I'd think he'd welcome code & input direct from SP's authors.

Thanks!

Thank you for this everyone.

Will there be a way for us users to add requests, or to see a list of features we can comment on?

E.g. Points for topic actions: Create, reply, etc.

Here is a link to the existing Hooks: http://mycred.me/about/

The following WordPress hooks are available:

Points for Registrations – award points for users signing up on your website.
Points for Logins – award points for users logging into your website.
Points for Content Publishing – award points for users publishing any post type.
Points for Commenting – award points for users commenting on posts.
Points for Link Clicks – award points for users clicking on links.
Points for Watching Videos – award points for users watching YouTube videos.

The following BuddyPress hooks are available:

Points for Group Actions – if groups are enabled, award points for different group actions.
Points for Profile Actions – if extended profiles are enabled, award points for profile related actions.
Points for Links Actions – award points for link related actions.
Points for Gallery Actions – award points for either BP Album+ or BP Gallery related actions.

Lastly, this is a tangent, but in this process will BuddyPress integration be affected? I'm trying to use SimplePress with BuddyPress and MyCred to manage a social environment with rewards--on two separate sites.
