I understand Mr. Papa and no offense taken.  For me it is plenty big enough but for those not as technologically advanced and for those that are new to the forum, and don't exactly know what is going on, the pop-up is helpful.  It is these two groups who are more interested in it than anyone really.

Sometimes members may want to get the attention of another forum member immediately (when they see them online) to tell them something and the pop-up would catch them and make sure they don't exit without realizing they have a message.  I don't think it is a major feature to consider, but if it is easy and can be turned on and off in the admin I think it might be worthwhile on down the road but its definitely not anything major. 

Believe me, I would much rather see the pop-up enlargement work with the text wrap and the ability for the code reader on bbcode (& rich text) to read capital [IMG] in the code for photos (how photobucket dispenses it) to make the photo insertion simpler than have anyone on the staff even consider this pop-up window suggestion!  lol  [Image Can Not Be Found]
