Is there a way to deactivate the notification (buddypress) for new forum posts?

on the road without access to my std dev environment, but isnt that an option on forum - components - buddypress?
when I get a chance will fire up my tablet and look since I have dev environment on there...

Guess what? The last update crashed that function again! Please fix

Well I have just read through the thread and I have no idea what 'function' is 'crashed again' as I can find no mention of any crashed functions previous to this.
I also do not know what 'last update' you are referring to. BuddyPress? Simple:Press? WordPress? The SP BuddyPress Integration plugin? And if one of the above it would be useful to know the versions of each you are using.
We have no other current reports of any crashes.
