In just a few days, I've been able to configure my communication needs for a new LMS membership site using Simple Press along with the Private Messaging plugin. I love the way it works and how much control I have. Thanks!
I was wondering if anyone has indicated a need for being able to upload a file from inside the Private Messaging system. I'm using another plugin to do this outside your PM system but it would be nice to encompass everything in one place. I require members to submit assignments using a unique filetype as part of the course system and I need file uploads to be organized in upload folders with sub folders for each user. It would be nice to be able to access the files within the LMS system instead of accessing the files via FTP. The plugin I'm using now is called "Inline Upload." It has an extensive set of short-code attributes that allows me to do what I need. Unfortunately, I need to access member uploads using my FTP program.
The other request (or guidance if it can already be done) is whether there is a way to disable the ability for a member to send a private message to other members and just allow them to send (and receive) messages to the administrator or moderator.
Cheers!

No currently, you cannot use the uploader in a private message... but I can say its high on our list to add... and soon, its slated for the next release, but have not implemented it yet... the file uploader plugin for SP will be modified to work with the pm plugin when this is implemented...
interesting... first time anyone has asked for those kind of permissions for pms... so, sorry, but the answer is no... but I can add it to the list for future consideration...
