I would love to see you add the functionality of being able to update posts to the forum through the "Quick Edit" feature of the posts dashboard.

The admin(s) of the forum can have that functionality by using the SP admin bar plugin.

I added the plugin and I do not see that it added any such functionality.

looking back at this thread, I dont think Andy quite understood...

You get quick edit (assume you mean Quick Press) functionality with the admin bar plugin, but its actually on the front end of the forum display and not in the wp dashboard...

keep in mind that Quick Press is only for new blog posts... you dont edit existing blog posts...

if you actually mean editing posts on the posts list display in the admin (not the dashboard), you cannot edit post content there, just some of the meta type data...   but I can say, we do not have any plans currently to provide post editing functionality in the backend since its all resident on the front end and would require a lot of duplication of efforts...

I want to quickly add past posts to my forum. If you plan on adding that functionality in the near future fine. But you still have to individually edit each one to locate it in an appropriate forum group. I think it would be faster and easier to do this from the quick edit screen on the posts list dashboard. The rest is irrelevant.

the admin bar from the front end allows you to quickly (just like quick press) add posts to topics that have received new posts that have not been replied to yet...  the admin bar provides the same list of posts as the dashboard and you can add posts quickly and easily...  if you want to 'edit' (highlighted because you have been mixing add and edit) a post in the admin bar, yes you have to visit that particular topic but the link is right there in the admin bar next to the new post - no searching required...

so sounds like you want to duplicate the admin bar in the dashboard?  never been asked for before since most folks spend 99% of the time on the front end and very little in the backend while managing the forum...
