Support Forum
I came across an article the other day which got me to wondering about the future of SPF.
The article mentioned that bbPress is going to be worked on by the core WP development team in order to convert "bbPress from a standalone platform into a neat little WordPress plugin."
I've been there, done that with bbPress. In short, for those that have never played around with bbPress, it absolutely sucks. I'm not kidding. I tried it out for a month before I came across SPF, and within a day of first stumbling upon this forum I converted to SPF.
What I'm wondering about here is, why in the world would WordPress waste their time with an abysmal forum like bbPress instead of taking advantage of an already awesome forum and working on integrating this into the WP core?
Have the SPF developers been in touch with the WP core dev team on this issue? Is there anything we (users and fans of this forum) can do to lobby and convince the WP core dev team to ditch bbPress in favor of SPF? Not that any convincing should really be needed; 10 min. spent with each forum will show them that it's no contest.
I'd like to close by saying "thank you" to the developers of SPF for making this –by FAR– the best WP forum available! [Image Can Not Be Found]
lol... I agree! but no we havent been in touch with the wp devs except for writing some wp trac tickets...
I think bbpress is a manhood think with Matt... he really wants to make that work... but thats okay, there is room for multiple wp forum plugins...
the one place we are lacking is our support of buddypress... we plan to change that in 5.0... we have ambitious plans for 5.0, but as a 2 man dev team, we are limited in what we can do...
As always, we would welcome an help from our users that would like to join the dev team!

LOL, You didn't even try contacting him? How about we give it a try and see what happens. It would be pretty hard to say "no" once you compare SPF to bbPress.

Exactly. All the more reason why we should try to get SPF accepted as THE Wordpress forum plugin instead of bbPress. It would immediately bring on more users and developers, plus a greater co-ordination with the WP dev team.

I would love to help, but am just a simple user - not a developer. Would love to help in any way I can though.
stand by when put 5.0 into alpha and beta... but still months away from that...
