Support Forum
I'm not sure if there's a way to do this now or not other than editing the TinyMCE java script etc, which I've seen but it seems pretty difficult for someone like me with little coding knowledge.
There's a plugin for wordpress that will allow you to easily add custom buttons to the toolbar and it would be fantastic if this was an option in the forum setup as well. Basially I want to add custom bb tags [item][/item] for example. I know that PHPbb has this feature in the admin area and it would be great if we could do the same with Simple Press.
If I'm missing something here and it's already something that can be done, please point me in the right direction.
Also not sure why I keep typing customer instead of custom... it's been a long night.
It has been the intention through a couple of releases to support the user adding in TM plugins but sadly it didn't make the cut. I do have a small script that I can send to you that wil enable plugin addition if that is what you want. The TM initialisation file can be changed of course.
If you want to add the bbCode plugin then you will need to make wholesale changes to the init file - in fact you really need two init sections.
If you just want to have the forum run bbCode there is a basic bbCode editor you can use as an alternative but it does not support the same feaures as TM.
We will be reviewing our use of TM for version 5 to see if it is the best editor we can use for SPF.
