I had setup a test website and upgraded Simplepress to 5.7.1. Now in the main website with Simplepress 5.4, sharing icons have been showing up for each forum group, but in the test web site with 5.7.1, they show up only at the beginning of the forum.

Surely this is just that you have selected to only show the share this icon and not the individual service icons. You need to check the share this options (in components admin section) you have set up.

I would point out the errors you are seeing regarding deprecated functions in the 5.7.1 page. This is because your SP plugins are out of date and also need upgrading
