Support Forum
We recently released some minor updates to Simple:Press and a couple of related plugins. One update included a security fix that was responsibly reported by Blaise Fiedler on behalf of fotoloco.fr.
In total 3 plugins were updated. Here is a summary of those updates:
Simple:Press Core: New version 5.7.5.3
Fix: Security Vulnerability that could allow one user to delete posts from another user when submitting a specially crafted post request.
Threading: New Version 1.9.3
Fix: Latest threaded post not always appearing in forum view as most recent.
Warnings and Suspensions: New Version 1.2.3
Fix: Admin panels (other than Options) not opening.
Fix: Footer variable (setting) not passed into admin JS loading.
I don't know who is running this forum now. Could you please give us an update on the transition situation. I have not heard any news since a month. Is Simple Press going to continue under new management? Has the transition taken place? What about version 5.8?
I believe that the redo of the site should give some indication that change is progressing... I would expect another blog post update before too long... yes, we are working towards getting the next major version 5.8 out in short order... Andy and I are still transitioning the project to the new owners... I will leave it to them to add anything more, but its definitely still active - not a small endeavor to transition such a large project...

Hi:
Yes, Simple:Press is going to continue to be published under new management. There will be another update posted soon, most likely by the end of the month. I'm sure you've noticed that the website is in the process of being revamped which is part of the transition process.
The 5.8 release is still being worked on and will actually be called 6.0 instead of 5.8.
Thanks.
Ha - looks like both Mr. Papa and I published a reply to your question at the same time.
