I am looking to create a paid forum on wordpress and simple-press is my preferred choice.  I would be looking to use an annual or possibly monthly subscription.

  1. Is there a simplepress plugin that would enable users to upgrade or modify their subs? I looked at features
  2. I already have access to s2 Member. Would this be suitable to use as an alternative? Are there any known issues?
  3. What plugin / app do you use for subs here?

NB I intend to to get a simple press subscription if I can find a way to integrate a paid subs model.

We do not have a membership plugin of our own. On this site we recently switched from ‘WishList Member’ to ‘Restrict Content Pro’ from Pippin’s Plugins.

If the membership plugin you choose has done the right thing and instituted the correct WordPress actions and filters then you can achieve a tight integration with Simple:Press. I do know we have users who rely on S2 member so I must assume this performs the correct WP required tasks. But we have never used it ourselves.
