Support Forum
I'm using:
- wordpress 4.4
- simple:press 5.6.1
I recently did an upgrade on the wordpress theme and the forum stoped showing.
I went to the integration menu and tried to change the page. It worked, but the permalink din't update.
The workaround I found, was renaming the "slut" of the old page, creating a new page with the same slut and setting it as the forum page.
Hope this helps anybody else and that you guys fix it.
Cheers,
Alex
PS: Awesome plugin! Please think about adding a new membership plan : Fan or Supporter - costing only 1 dollar a month. It shouldn't offer anything, be the same as free or maybe a free plugin or theme once a year. Anyone who likes your work would most like pay it just to support you guys. 🙂
There can be a couple of reasons for this. The first is very rare but we have seen it happen and that is where both a WP page and a WP post end up with the same slug. It is not, of course, supposed to happen and, as I say, is very rare. But this can cause all kinds of problems with the display - notably displaying somethign else or displaying it empty.
More common - although again fairly rare - is when the WordPress 'rewrite rules' (these are the set of rules that control page permalinks) get flushed by a WP theme or (more likely) a plugin, but do not get rebuilt properly. Fixing this is usually a case of updating the WordPress permalinks and then updating the forum permalinks in that order.
My guess would be this is what happened in your case as changing a page slug will update the rules correctly allowing things to get back to normal.
Thanks for your last thoughts there. And an interesting thought. Might be worth consideration...
