Support Forum

My client is evaluating Simple:Press for her Association and members.
On the page where she wants the forum, she also wants four buttons which are also protected by membership (same membership levels in Simple:Press).
But with WP I can't find a way to show the WP buttons once someone authenticates to S:P. It appears I'd have to maintain two exactly identical User groups - one for WP to see the buttons once logged in to WP, and one to see the forum once authenticated with S:P.
Obviously, that's not workable.
Is there a more elegant way to accomplish this?
I'm thinking I'd have to post a Welcome post in S:P which has the links to the buttons...but that seems clugey.

Hi Kimberly!
Thanks for contacting us.
You can configure Simple:Press to map WordPress roles to different Simple:Press usergroups. This means that as long as the user has the role the permissions will be mirrored to Simple:Press which means that you dont have to keep different groups in sync.
I don't know the best way to show the buttons, but I would look for a plugin that can show different blocks depending on WP roles. That way you could add the blocks for the users having the correct role.
Best regards,
Joakim @ Simple:Press
