Hi,

I was keen to use your plugin on a new site I am developing for a client. I setup a vanilla wordpress site and ran the importer in an attempt to migrate a bbpress forum install. The importer brought some of the topics and post and some of the users (1/3). I was getting a 502 on the page but it did seem to eventually complete. One thing it did not do was link users to posts. All the imported posts where showing as guest

Before signing up for simple press I just wondered if anyone could advise that it will be possible to bring all the users and posts/topics across and not just some of them.

I assume from what you say that the sourece bbPress was a different domain and not on the same target domain and database - the latter, of course, being the more common way to import from bbPress.
But yes - it should certainly bring across all users and I do not believe it has been a reported problem before.

I don't really follow the 502 issues though...

Thanks for the reply. Yes the bbpress was on a different domain and database.

Once I had setup all the database parameters for the import and started the import process every so often a large blue panel appears on the page with a 502 error. Some of the panels also showed that some forums topics and users where being imported. I check the source site today and it was 431/1671 users imported.

The http 502 error suggests a communication issue between the two servers. The inly thing I can think of that the importer might have a hand in there may be a timeout although I really don't know if that could result in a 502. Might be wroth seeing if the timeout value can be increased to see.

Or exporting the source database and importing to the target mysql server just for the import.
