How does one get the updates to work? The WordPress Updater is enabled and working but Simple:Press plugins are not getting updated. Updated to WordPress 4.0 and then updated Simple:Press to 5.5.1. Three plugins (so far) are incompatible:

  • Gravatar Cache breaks Gravatars. Perms on the directory don't make any difference. All Storage Locations are: Location Found/Write OK.
  • Quicktags RichText breaks the edit input box. Unresponsive.
  • PLupload breaks the forum, causing "Invalid Database Query" errors followed by: "Access denied - you do not have permission to view this page" error.

simple press core as well as its premium plugins and themes are all updates via the wp updater... and since 4.0, there have been tens of thousands of updates through the wp updater...  All our plugins are compatible with sp 5.5.2 and wp 4.0...

...and they're not. If they were, wouldn't they be updated and able to work with 5.5.1?

  • Editor TinyMCE Rich Text sits at 2.1.1
  • File Uploader with Plupload sits at 2.1.2
  • Gravatar Cache sits at 1.2.2

If these are the current versions, then there's a problem. Am I missing a different setting somewhere that enables this? Just watched 7 WP plugins auto-update, so I know that it's working. I'd look some of this up in the Codex but, now that half of it is walled off, that doesn't fly.

Also, don't have 5.5.2. 5.5.1 is the only version on the Downloads page.

yeah, sorry misspoke (err... typed)... 5.5.1 is current... 5.5.2 is coming out this weekend if plan holds...

no, those are not the current versions... I would check you php error log or access log, and see why wp is not offering you updates - as I said, the update system is working for everyone else...  if you are having a local issue with the wp updater, please open a topic in the support forum and we will be happy to assist you...
