Hi!

Just did an upgrade of WP to 4.2.2.

The SPF (4+) then throws errors like:

Warning: in_array() expects parameter 2 to be array, string given in /var/www/problem-with-post-edit-buttontml/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 342

So then I upgraded to SPF 5.5.8, but it didnt work out (still the warning above, plus some serious styling errors)

Since I have a test enviroment with WP 4.2.2 and SPF 5.4 that works fine, I wanted to downgrade, but saw another post that it´s not possible.

What can I do?

Upgrading from a 4 series of Simple:Press needs to be at least 4.5 to enable upgrading to version 5 - as described in the upgrade documents on our codex. it does not even have the same plugin name! Also a 5.4 version of SP will not work correctly with WordPress 4.2.2 which needs to have 5.5.8 installed.

I think you need to restore to your backup and start over.

Thanks,

It looks like I managed to recover everything now. I had forgotten the sp-resources folders. So when I turned on my membership and loaded on the latest versions of various SPF plugins, everything seems ok again. I hope.

Unfortunately I can not use the upload through the dashboard. I must instead do everything manually, and that's why I tend to ignore/forget to keep up with the latest versions.

But I do have an installation with WP 4.2.2 + SPF 5.4 that seem to work out on a test server.

It's a corporate intranet with these restrictions from the security department. So I basically download all files (both WP and plugins) and manually move them to the servers.

I updated to Simplepress 5.5.8 from version 5.5.1 yesterday. My forums now just look like text (no boxes or graphical layout) and it's hard for my users to know where to type, search etc. Is there a way to revert back to 5.5.1 or is there a setting I am missing here?

And here is what the forums looked like under 5.5.1 two days ago.

Any suggestions on how to get back to my old forum interface? Is this related to the new version or a setting that was reset/changed in the update? Any ideas?
