I have installed the trial version of Simple-Press and want to start a membership IF I can get one thing clarified: Is there a way to remove all of the stats at the bottom of the forum that tells how many users have been online, etc. Also, when viewing a forum thread, it has all sorts of information about who the User is. Can I remove that? It all appears really, really cluttered. Thanks in advance. Site is http://www.respokin.com

Hey Tommy,

Yes everything you mention can be easily achieved through the theme templates.

In these templates are functions that control what is displayed with controlling arguments, and with membership comes access to the codex documentation containing everything you need to know to achieve what you require.

Thank you for the very prompt reply! Now, I'm no web developer. Will I be able to know how to turn off the stats I do not want to see? In specific, I want all the stats at the bottom of the forum to go away (Time Zone, Forum Stats, Member Stats, etc. and also all the stats shown in a thread when a User posts (Member since, Credentials e.g. Admin, Forum Posts, etc).

I'm just not familiar with codex to know how to go about that. I'm fine with turning off and on features. Does that make sense?

SP themes follow WP themes in the use of template files and template tags...  You can add, remove or customize most template tag functions...  All forum information is displayed via these template tag functions...  and if there are not options for a desired customization, they can normally be done with a standard wp filter...

Thank you. Do I have to purchase the Member pack in order to make these customizations to the free version template/theme?

I like the look of the forum we are using now, as in this actual one where I am typing. Is this theme an option for members, without having to customize it heavily, to get it to look like this?

No, you can customize any of the default simple press theme as you like...

Our theme here is very custom with lots of tweaks and special functions for this site... So it's not available... But its originally based on our default theme...

Take a look at our demo site (link in sidebar) and you can look at the different color overlay options within the default theme...
