I have this same issue. Is there a solution?

I deleted the admin account to create the forum and now I am unable to access to forum with any other account.

I even tried re-creating the admin account, but I still get the same "special wp admin" notice.

Well, as mentioned in the previous posts there are a couple of suggestions - although this forum is for pre-membership queries. I'm not sure I even understand what you mean by 'deleted the admin account to create forum'.

Again, as mentioned previously in this topic, for further support we would need a topic opened up in the support forum.

Hi Ike,

Thanks for your quick response. To clarify, this is a pre-membership query.

I installed SimplePress onto my wordpress site with the default "admin" username.

Later, I created a new username on my site under my name, "sam" and I deleted the default "admin" user.

Now, when I try to access the forum plugin within the dashboard, I get the "special wp admin notice" - saying that I need to request access from the SP admin because I am only a "WP admin".

I've already tried uninstalling and re-installing and also re-creating the "admin" user with no luck.

I hope this all makes sense. Is there a way to completely delete SimplePress so that I can start fresh?

an sp admin can uninstall...  with that notice, you still have an sp admin somewhere...  wp admins are not sp admins...

you can also remove all the wp_sfxxxx tables in the database...

Removing all the wp_sfxxxx tables in the database did the trick! Thank you for all your help!
