hello!

I have installed SimplePress and I find it very good!

But it looks like a bit too slow on loading pages...

I do not understand if it is fault of my hosting or some wrong configuration I have set...

please have a look at it..

Thank'you
Franco

Thank'you for fast answer MrPapa

I have done more tests and found something of interesting:

from main forum page to 'AFV News – FORUM' it takes 14 seconds to load new page.

IF I disable TinyMCE and select one of the other three it takes from 3 with plain text area or 5 seconds with HTML editor!

14 seconds Vs 3 seconds of loading time ' class='wp-smiley' />

I have done this test from 2 different High speed ADSL lines.

Can you make load TinyMCE only on reply or edit ?

and yes I have read the performanc wiki and done all I could

Regards

Franco

tinymce is not loaded on the forum main page.

In about 50 pageviews, it never took me more than 3 seconds to load any forum page and about 1 sec was the norm.  which is about how long any other page on your site took too.

its unfortunately your theme (?) is loading scriptaculous, prototype and jquery.  nice to stick with just one of those libraries.

also, viewing a page source says you are using something called hypercache?  I would be leary of trying to cache the forum pages as they are dynamically generated pages and cant really be cached.

just over a second to load that link... just did a dozen or so forum and/or topic loads. one took about 3 seconds, but most were quite quick. and no, I live in the middle of the nowhere and am not on a fast connection - just a 1MB DSL (jonesing for much faster connection though - price of living in the country).

but I was pointing out that you said your tests were on the forum main page which doesnt even load an editor.

I dont know what hypercache is (server based object cache or wordpress plugin or other). just wanted to give a warning that most wp cache plugins wont work on the forum page. ALL content for the forum is displayed on a single wp page. all that appearance of multipages and urls is url rewrite magic.

Do not know what to say... I notice difference on loading pages if I change editors.
On my side is quite visible as the difference is x3 times. I have a 7Mb DSL. 😕

And made tests on all pages, as wrote above also the main page is affected.
I have used Firefox 3.0 and Explorer 7, cleaned caches and cookies..

Tommorrow I will make tests from my office, so I change again DSL, computer and browsers

Otherwise I should perform a new SPF install...

Mr.Papa.. Thank's again for your time!
