Hi all, a bit of blatant promotion coming up.

the site i've created that uses a Simple Press forum is
http://www.orchardrcmcc.co.cc

it's a "big" site for a small Radio Control car racing club based on the South Cheshire / North Staffordshire border here in the UK. The club itself is known as the Alsager Road & Rally radio control car club, although the track is called "the Orchard circuit" hence radio control model car circuit

Yes, i could of opted for a .co.uk domain, but thought i'd go for the ".CC" as it could also signify "car club".

Originally i built the site myself by HTML/PHP coding & stuck a fluxBB forum on the site, but ideally needed something where i didn't have to FTP the results & code them into HTML pages along with any club news which became a bit time consuming, because doing weekly updates usually meant coding the old fashioned way so a couple of months back I switched the site to a wordpress based script to make it more "web 2.0" & switched the forum to keep a bit of uniform layout, so as a result doing updates were simpler & changes could be done by plug-ins rather than using seperate scripted sections & eliminating the need for user accounts for each part of the site.

thats what this forum is for! wink

good luck with the site, though that black/white checkerboard background (I do get it) is a bit hard on the eyes.

originally the background was just a small block of chequered flag along the top (level with the header) with a green stripe underneath & the rest of the page was white. Then when i changed the site design it didn't look right so i had to change the background, all i did was a quick remove of the lower half of the background image in MS paint to make the current layout background & it kind of stuck ever since.. although i do agree, i am considering a change to larger squares if only to make the site a bit less intensive.

I like that idea.
