Hi,

The site is running Infinite SEO to aid with optimization. We have added Simplepress to a page titled 'Discussion Forum' the Title Generated for the page is 'Discussion Forum | http://www.site.co.uk'.

This isn't helping in our optimization because all the forum topics and pages have the same title, I have been through the Components SEO and this is working when displaying the Forum topic Name and Title on the page but not in the top level title.

Hope this makes sense, could a conflict be occurring between Infinite SEO and the SEO component in SimplePress?

I have to start by saying not really my area of expertise (one of them!) but I believe that what is probably happening is that the SEO plugin (which is a new one on me by the way) is simply recognising the forum page and as we only use the one page for all SP display then it is understandable. Is there a way of excluding the forum page from the SEO plugin so that so can do its own thing?

As a matter of interest I can tell you that the built in support within SP for third party SEO plugins is with the most popular 'All in One SEO Pack'

Thanks for your advice, I have tried deactivating Infinite SEO and this was blocking your title tags from appearing. I will try All in One SEO Pack that you recommended.

Any follow up on this? Did you get this working Kenn?

I'm having the same issue with Yoast's WordPress SEO, problem persists upon deletion as well.

This is a weird one... we have many users who say they can use them together... but others, like yourself, who cannot...

unfortunately, there is only one hook for the page title and in some circumstances we must be fighting over it...

another user (https://simple-press.com/suppo.....3/#p117173) reported being able to keep yoast seo from running on the forum page by using the plugin organizer plugin for wp... neat little plugin that lets you control what other plugins are loaded on any wp page... might be worth a try...

some day, time permitting, we need to download that Yoast SEO and see what is going on...

Yes it was Infinate SEO that was causing the issue, we changed to All in One SEO and althogh it was a hassle as we had to reenter all the meta information for all the pages and posts on our site it seemed quicker than trying to find the conflict in Infinate SEO.
