Hi I wanted to use the "["sp_hot_topics"]" short code in a page, and it does work, however it places it at the top of the page, not where I place the tag. Is this how it is meant to work, or am I doing something wrong?

hey, the first one to try the shortcodes in a page! 
so far, they have mostly been used in the sidebar...
They should show up in the page where you put it... but its possible we have something messed up... let me run a couple tests...

argh... yeah, that's not right... we are just echo'ing out the content... we need to be returning the content... sorry...
luckily, we are releasing our 5.1 update along with a bunch of plugins, including the template tags plugin on Thursday... I will make sure this fix gets in there! if you want the fix ahead of time, I can post it here for you (at least for this shortcode)...
