No problem. it is great, actually, to hear of a theme author who is willing to dive in as so many times we hear they do not even reply to questions. I hope they manage to solve this problem and that they do not uncover any others when done. And we will be here if you still need help sorting SP related issues of course.

Thanks again for your help on this. It's taken a bit to try to narrow down issues.
The theme was hard to figure out. Eventually we just reloaded it, and that helped get us moving.
It looks like the Clicky Analytics plugin is interfering with Simple:Press for some reason. http://deconf.com/clicky-analy.....wordpress/ Whenever i activate it the profile stops working. Then I test it later and it works. Then I test it and it doesn't. But it does seem like this is one relationship.
Yoast's Google Anayltics plugin is interfering as well. http://yoast.com/wordpress/goo.....ntent=v420 When I activate this one the "Watching" and "Subscribed" buttons don't work. But it's intermittent, just like the profile. This is confusing. Also, this is apparently the one that's interfering with images (Go To Button).
I haven't contacted either of these devs, and might not. Yoast doesn't really reply to support requests for their free plugins. I'll miss the Clicky Analytics plugin more. It's a nice quick look at traffic flow. I might contact them. But, of course, then I get into the going back and forth thing, which can be a pain.
The WPMUDev dev spent about two or three hours on the site with me today, trying to iron this out. He's a bit baffled too, but thinks there's some sort of conflict with SP. The inconsistency is confusing everyone.
I'm gaining, but still scratching my head. Any ideas?
I don't expect to hear back tonight or tomorrow. Have a Happy New Year guys.
Kind regards,
Joe
are either of them loading jquery or jquery ui other than the wp shipped version? see: http://codex.simple-press.com/.....-conflict/

Thanks Mr Papa,
Simi Valley now? No more AZ? We lived in Santa Clarita for a few years.
I'm a little confused about the jquery thing. According to this page, they should be coming from my domain, followed by "wp-includes." However, a ton of Scripts here come from "wp-content" instead, including a bunch for SP
<script type='text/javascript' src='http://escapeamericanow.info/w.....js?ver=3.8'></script>
Perhaps I'm not understanding what to look for?
Regards,
Joe
well those are additional js includes files.... but not the core wp jquery or jquery ui... where are they loaded from?
if this is your forum: http://escapeamericanow.info/forum/
it looks okay from that perspective... since this involves yoast stuff, perhaps try going to forum - integration - page and permalink and selecting the strict wp api option...
there are numerous js errors and security warnings coming from your site if you look in your browser console when loading the page...
yes, moved to Simi for a new job...

Someday I might understand what you just said...
I've deactivated yoast, and can live without it. I would like to have the Clicky plugin working. But it's not vital, just convenient. Both of these have been deactivated all day. I do have s2Member activated.
It seems like things are working fine, but you're seeing security issues and js errors. If you don't mind, can you tell me how to figure out to figure out what needs to be done to fix this?
Thanks,
Joe
I really do not know at the moment where we are up to on this one...
When I look at your website I am still seeing the same script error and it still seems, to me, to be stopping scripts from running. For example - I don't see the two QuickLinks lists (see above to the right of the search control) which is a classic case of scripts becoming non-functional. I still feel this needs to be sorted before anything else...

Thanks Swordfish,
Hrmm, not sure what you're talking about. You mean the "New/Recently Updated Topics" and "Select Forum" dropdowns? If so, they're displayed for me and appear to be functioning just fine.
Could it be a restriction because of your forum role? Are you seeing the forums, or just the shell? This is protected by my membership plugin. I just made you a member, just in case.
Mr Papa - I already had the Strict WP API option set, and nothing else in that field.
Thanks,
Joe
OK - that;s better - I see the lists and everything eklse.
So - apart from some CSS issues caused by such a narrow column made available for the forum to display in - what are we left with? Are we just back to 404's now (which I have not yet experienced)?
When it comes down to Yoast - did you have the option to allow 'ugly' permalinks turned on? This is needed.
And what is this 'clicky' plugin? What does it do please?

Glad that made sense.
So I need to widen my center column? I was noting that, but wasn't sure what to do. What's the minimum?
I don't get 404s anymore. The only issues are the yoast plugins (Google and SEO, I think) and Clicky.
Clicky is an analytics provider. The info they supply isn't necessarily better than Google, but it's different. I can access it on their site, but this plugin provides a quick view of the vitals in my dashboard, so it's nice to have. And it shows live analytics for any given page when I go to it.
Here's the plugin - http://deconf.com/clicky-analy.....wordpress/. It's simply "Clicky Analytics" in my plugins, by Alin Marcu.
I'll check Yoast. I have no idea if that was an option. [EDIT: I can't find that option in Yoast. Maybe something here will help - http://escapeamericanow.info/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=google-analytics-for-wordpress.]
Thanks!
Joe
