Support Forum
Hello,
i hope i can find help here.
My Problem is that the translations not working.
I downloaded sp-de.mo and sp-de.po . With 36 and 66 Bytes.
Than i canged the names to sp-de_De.mo and sp-de_De.po .
Upload with ftp in the File /sp-resources/forum-language/simple-press
In the config.php ad the code define (‘WPLANG’, ‘de’);
Greetings
what are you trying to translate? see: http://codex.simple-press.com/.....alization/
keep in mind that a lot of the translations will be in theme translation file not core since the theme does most of the displaying... and some will be in plugins...
Visit Cruise Talk Central and Mr Papa's World
But the core is already translated into German. Do you mean you want to translate it differently or did you just not know it was available? See the 'Translations' link at the top of the sidebar and for more information on use see the install section of our Codex.
Please remember that most of what you see displayed does NOT come from the SP core but from the theme you are using.

You see my step by step in beginning of this post.
Look please for better understanding and so much sorry for my english.
I going to glotpress webpage.
Simple Press Core - Version 5.2 - Front End - German
Export all current as Portabel Object Message Catalog (.po)
Export all current as Maschine Object Message Catalog (.mo)
I have the files: sp-de.po ; sp-de.mo
Changed the filnames to sp-de_DE.po ; sp-de_DE.mo
Upload to my server in file: / sp-resources/forum-language/simple-press/
Edit my config.php. Here a part of my side:
/** Database Charset to use in creating database tables. */
define('DB_CHARSET', 'utf8');
/** The Database Collate type. Don't change this if in doubt. */
define('DB_COLLATE', '');
define (‘WPLANG’, ‘de’);
Thanks for search!
Firstly - you only need the 'po' file.
And - why did you rename the files? It needs to match your WP_LANG setting which is just 'de'. So the file should be 'sp-de.po'.
And, of course, remember that most of the translations you see on the screen do NOT come from the core file - they come from the SP theme you are using so you will need to download and install that as well.
